The MIDAS Project

The MIDAS project is developing and evaluating methods for Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging (MRSI) for clinical research studies. This includes development of the MIDAS software (Metabolite Imaging and Data Analysis System), which provides an integrated set of MRI and MRSI processing functions. This software supports a "whole-brain" MRSI acquisition method that has been implemented on MRI systems from three major manufacturers.

This project aims to further develop and distribute these capabilities and to encourage more widespread use of MRSI for diagnostic imaging and improved mapping of metabolite distributions in the human brain. More information can be found here.

This project is funded by the National Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering, initially under grant R01EB00822 and continued under R01EB016064.
